Rising Stone Pillars are solid objects that appear in the Lost Kingdom in Super Mario Odyssey. Each one occurs as a pair, trio, or quartet of columns, which may or may not be connected by stairs. The pillars never all have the same height, and the highest and lowest pillars have a starburst-shaped symbol on them. Performing a Ground Pound on a pillar that has the most height out of the full set lowers that pillar toward the ground. Any pillar of the same height, or close to that height, is also lowered. This also causes the other pillar(s) of the set to rise. Rising Stone Pillars appear to be made out of the same stones as Propeller Pillars and are etched with similar markings. Rising Stone Pillars are found throughout the Lost Kingdom, where raising pillars can be used to access high areas and lowering pillars can be used to access areas blocked off by the pillars. One pillar of a set of Rising Stone Pillars is hollow, and when raised, it can be entered to obtain the "Inside the Rising Stone Pillar" Power Moon.
Objects with identical properties to Rising Stone Pillars appear in the area of the Lost Kingdom through a Moon Pipe that aas the "Chasing Klepto" and "Extremely Hot Bath" Power Moons. These Rising Stone Pillars are purple and their starburst-shaped symbol is done in white. The texture of these Rising Stone Pillars is similar to Moon Rocks.
When Klepto steals Cappy from Mario on main map of the Lost Kingdom, it perches on one set of Rising Stone Pillars. Approaching Klepto makes it fly to another pillar of the same set, making it impossible to attack it directly. Instead, Mario has to strike the raised portion of the Rising Stone Pillar, which hits Klepto from below and defeats it. If Klepto is approached without giving it the opportunity to steal Cappy, it will still start moving between a set of Rising Stone Pillars. In the area with the "Chasing Klepto" "Extremely Hot Bath" Power Moons, Klepto perches on both Rising Stone Pillars and and regular terrain, meaning it has to be chased over to the Rising Stone Pillars first before he can be defeated. Klepto further does not alternate between the different pillars of a set of Rising Stone Pillars, instead flying to entirely different portions of terrain whenever approached. This makes it more difficult to have Klepto stand on a low pillar so that it can be raised to hit Klepto.
