Rising pillars,[1] also known as stone pillars or simply pillars,[2] are solid objects that appear in Mount Beanpole and Fire Bros. Hideout #2 in Super Mario 3D World and Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury. They have an appearance of Hisstocrat.

In Super Mario 3D World in the level Mount Beanpole, a player needs to scratch the Cat Wheel to reach a Cloud Cannon with a stone pillar. In Fire Bros. Hideout #2, there are two rising pillars. Every few seconds, they rise and then lower back down. While one pillar is at the top, the other one is always at the bottom.

In Bowser's Fury, Cat Mario can scratch the Cat Wheel to extend rising pillars and collect the "Climb to the Shine" and "Spin, Scramble, Shine" Cat Shines. Rising pillars lower back down after a Cat Wheel has not been interacted with for a short period of time.
