History[edit]

Super Mario 3D World / Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury[edit]

Skating Goombas appear only in the levels Snowball Park and Ty-Foo Flurries. If the player character gets close to one, it starts skating toward them. Coming into contact with a Skating Goomba damages the character, but it can be defeated by jumping on it as with a standard Goomba. Some Skating Goombas drop their Ice Skates if defeated, allowing characters to ride them if they contact them.

In the Bowser's Fury campaign of Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury, two cat Goombas wearing Ice Skates appear at the beginning of Slipskate Slope if the current mission is "Key to the Cat Shine." More are also seen in this area after all five missions of the island have been completed.

Dr. Mario World[edit]

In Dr. Mario World, Skating Goombas appear alongside penguins on the second half of the World 26 map after the area is cleared of viruses.

Mario Kart World[edit]

Skating Goombas are found in the snowy regions of Mario Kart World traveling along the track.

The contemporaneous name for each language is listed first. Subsequent names are listed in chronological order for each language, from oldest to newest, and have the media with which they are associated in the "Notes" column. Names exclusive to localizations of the Super Mario Bros. Encyclopedia are not prioritized due to concerns about circular reporting, and are only listed first for their respective languages if they are the only ones available.
