"Underwater Theme"[1] is a musical theme in New Super Mario Bros., where it plays in the underwater levels. A chimes sound effect provides the gameplay function in place of the "Paah" sample, which is not present in this theme. This use would carry over into "Underwater Theme" in New Super Mario Bros. Wii.
