First appearance The Super Mario Bros. Movie (2023)

Chanterelle is a purple Toad very briefly seen in The Super Mario Bros. Movie.[1] Their name is a reference to a species of edible mushroom. During Mario and Toad's travel through the Mushroom Kingdom town up to Peach's Castle, Toad briefly greets Chanterelle. They reply, "Morning!" to which Toad replies, "Nice to see you, bud."

A separate character also named Chanterelle was introduced in Paper Mario; this character is also a purple Toad.
