Magmites are rock-shelled Buzzy Beetles from Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars and its remake that are encountered in the Mole Mines. As they do not have any special attack, they attack by hitting Mario and his allies with the rocks on their back, thrown by a group of baby Magmites. Magmites have high defense compared to their low HP, and they are strong against Mario's Jumps. They have a weakness to thunder and ice, so an Ice Bomb, or Mallow's Snowy or Thunderbolt, work well against them.
They have a stronger relative, called Magmus, found in Barrel Volcano. A similarly rock-shelled beetle known as Stone Buzzy later appeared in Super Paper Mario.
