The Moon Cup is a cup that appears in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe as part of the Booster Course Pass DLC. It is the second of two cups in the third wave of the DLC, being released alongside the Rock Cup, the sixth cup of the pass overall, and the eighteenth cup of the game overall. Like most cups in the pass, it only features classic courses. Excluding the Extra Cups in Mario Kart: Super Circuit and the cups in Mario Kart Tour, this is the second cup in the Mario Kart series to feature two classic courses from the same game, after the Lucky Cat Cup, as it features two courses from Mario Kart Tour: Berlin Byways and Merry Mountain. The emblem of the cup is a Power Moon. The decorations on this cup's trophy are purple.

Trivia
- In the game's data, the filename for DS Peach Gardens implies that it was originally set to be the second course of the Rock Cup, and the filename for GCN Waluigi Stadium (which is the third course of the Boomerang Cup in the final version) implies that it was originally set for the Moon Cup's second slot instead. A video uploaded by Nintendo of America on YouTube lists Wii Maple Treeway (which is the fourth course of the Rock Cup in the final version) as the second course of the cup.[1]
- The Moon Cup is the only cup comprised entirely of retros in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe to have all of its starting lines use the same Mario Kart logo (that being the modern one).
