Shell Shield is a defensive move that Koops can learn in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. 4 FP is required to use this move, and the player must level Koops to the Super Rank. To successfully use this attack, the A Button button must be pressed when the cursor is close to the center of the gauge. Depending how close the cursor is to the center, the Shell will have two to eight HP. The only way to see its HP is to have the Peekaboo badge, as it is not possible to use Goombella's Tattle on it.
