Domino, Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars

Domino is a jester and high-ranking member of the Smithy Gang, and a boss fought in the Weapon World of Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars. In battle, he fights alongside his partner Cloaker and has a pet snake, Mad Adder. Like Cloaker, his design is heavily influenced by depictions of ancient Middle Eastern culture; in his case, he wears a veil and brightly colored stripes and is shaped like a hookah, with the rope in back resembling a hookah's hose. His use of a giant cobra also ties into this influence.

Both Cloaker and Domino challenge Mario's party to a battle after he has fallen into a trap. In battle, Domino has strengths in magic use, though he has a physical weakness; his partner, Cloaker, complements the weakness by excelling at physical attacks. If Cloaker is defeated first, Domino retreats to his pet snake, the Mad Adder, and the two fuse, leading to another phase in the fight.

Trivia[edit]

  • Domino's phrase "It's clobbering time!" is a quote from the Marvel Universe character The Thing. Punchinello says the same phrase during a part of his battle. In the remake, Domino says "I'll clobber you!" instead.
