Super Mario Maker sample courses

1-3 Remix (Athletic) is the twenty-third sample course in Super Mario Maker. This level is a remake of World 1-3 from Super Mario Bros., and as such is set in the ground theme and the Super Mario Bros. game style.

Layout[edit]

This level features Semi-solid Platforms and moving platforms. There are four ? Blocks which contain Mystery Mushrooms. The first Mystery Mushroom turns Mario into Luigi, the second Mushroom turns Mario into Yoshi, The third one turns Mario into Toad, and the last one turns Mario into Peach.

Notable difference between this level's layout and that of the original World 1-3 include the following:

  • As Semi-solid Platforms are used instead of islands, Mario is now able to jump through them from below.
  • This level features two vertical lifts in place of the original level's one vertical lift, as lifts cannot move as far in this game as they could in the original Super Mario Bros.
  • The original level features additional islands immediately after the vertical lift, whereas this level features white Mushroom Platforms.
  • The original level features only one ? Block, which contains either a Super Mushroom or a Fire Flower based on Mario's current form, whereas this level features four ? Blocks, each containing a Mystery Mushroom.
    • Furthermore, the heavenly sound effect now plays for each ? Block struck.
  • This level contains two fewer coins than the original World 1-3, featuring 21 in total rather than 23.
