A Goomboard is a unique enemy in the Nintendo Switch remake of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. They are crude cardboard cutouts with a Goomba drawn on them, made by the Battle Master himself. Goomboards are only fought in the Battle Master's training sessions, serving as indestructible enemies that deal no damage. If Mario chooses to practice guarding, the Battle Master grabs hold of a Goomboard and jumps at Mario, although this attack deals no damage.

Similar cardboard Goombas are seen in Paper Mario: Color Splash, serving as a target in the Action Command Dojo; and in Paper Mario: The Origami King, as part of a training machine used to practice blocking in the Battle Lab. Both go unnamed in their respective games, and the latter is designed after an origami Goomba.
