Mario about to land on a Character Switch with his emblem on it.
Character Switches are a type of switch that first appear in Super Mario 3D World. Each switch has a character logo on it for either Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Toad, or Rosalina; depending on who's emblem is shown, only that character can press the switch. When the player presses the switch it generally makes either a Stamp or a Green Star appear.
- Mario Switch: Depicts a red 'M' emblem, appears in Really Rolling Hills and Blast Block Skyway.
- Luigi Switch: Depicts a green 'L' emblem, appears in A Beam in the Dark.
- Princess Peach Switch: Depicts a emblem of Peach's crown, appears in Pretty Plaza Panic.
- Toad Switch: Depicts a emblem of Toad's head, appears in Backstreet Bustle and Sprawling Savanna Rabbit Run.
- Rosalina Switch: Depicts a Grand Star emblem, appears in Rolling Ride Run.
All of the switches give stamps except for the Toad Switch in Sprawling Savanna Rabbit Run, which gives out a Green Star, and the Mario Switch in Blast Block Skyway, which activates a line of coins, making Green Star Character Switches appear only once.
