First appearance Saturday Supercade ("El Donkey Kong") (1984)

Don Diego is a former bullfighter appearing in the Saturday Supercade episode "El Donkey Kong."

He first appears with his daughter, where he is desperate to enter an upcoming bullfighting competition to earn enough prize money to pay for her surgery. However, after losing his balance during a practice fight, he admits he no longer has the skills to be a matador. When Donkey Kong jumps into his hacienda, grabs his cape, and twirls the bull to tie its limbs with the cape, he offers to participate for him.

He and his daughter are later seen at a cantina, where Mario and Pauline, trying to escape from Cabeza and his muscle man, dance their way over to them while donning stereotypical Mexican attire. Cabeza and his muscle man, though initially fooled, instantly recognize the two when the record player skips parts on the record, and use a nearby net to capture them.

Don Diego and his daughter are last seen at the bullring, where they congratulate Donkey Kong for winning.
