Howard Axel is an opponent in Famicom Grand Prix: F1 Race. He is an American driver who is usually around fifth place among CPU racers, behind Bronco Maccini and in front of Panther Pedalf. Howard is a muscular blond man with a crew cut, a prominent nose and cleft chin, and a blue racing suit. His last name is a real surname and a play on "axle", the shaft that spins motorized wheels such as on cars. His car is blue.
