Hover for Cover is a microgame in the Sci-Fi folder in WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$! and returns as one of Dribble & Spitz's microgames in WarioWare Gold.
Gameplay
There is a rocket ship at the bottom of the screen, with various asteroids flying horizontally from both directions. The player must use the button to control the thrust of the rocket and avoid the asteroids. If the button is released, the rocket will fall back to the bottom of the screen.
- 1st level difficulty: The rocket is very small.
- 2nd level difficulty: The rocket is twice its original size.
- 3rd level difficulty: The rocket is three times its original size.
In WarioWare Gold, the ordinary rocket is replaced by a little girl in a bamboo rocket. This is based on the Japanese story The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter, whose protagonist, princess Kaguya (as a baby), is found inside a bamboo stalk.
