The Record Setter in Mario Kart Tour
Appears in Mario Kart Tour

The Record Setter is a High-End glider in Mario Kart Tour that debuted in the Sky Tour. The glider consists of a digital meter with rainbow wings on both sides. The glider is unique in the fact that the meter measures the distance traveled by the user while they are gliding, similarly to the gliding meter seen during Glider Challenges. The meter can reach a maximum distance of 999.0 before stopping.[1] The Record Setter improves the chances of rolling Mushrooms from Item Boxes and increases the number of points earned for using Mushrooms. It is currently the first and only item to gain two new favorite courses after being upgraded to level 8.

When the Record Setter was introduced, if the player raced on a course where it was possible to still be gliding after crossing the finish line while using the Record Setter, doing so would cause the Record Setter's meter to stop and not go up any farther than the distance displayed the moment the player crossed the finish line. On any course, if the player were to turn on the camera feature once they finished and wait until another glider section was reached, the meter would remain at 0 for the whole time the character was gliding. The glitch has since been fixed, with the Record Setter now working normally once the player has finished the race.[citation needed]
