Villager

Villager (referred to as Animal Crossing Boy in his Super Smash Bros. Brawl trophy description) is the default main character in the Animal Crossing series. He has made crossover cameo appearances in Mario games, beginning with being a spectator in Super Smash Bros. Brawl's Smashville stage. He is set to appear as a playable character in the upcoming Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U, taking his appearance from the cover art of Animal Crossing: City Folk. Seven more different variants of the Villager will be available as alternate costumes: three male and four female.[1][2]
He is also set to appear as a downloadable playable character in an upcoming May 2015 pack for Mario Kart 8. Isabelle, another character from the Animal Crossing series, is also set to appear as a racer.[3]
Special Moves
Villager's moves include using his net to ensnare enemies, planting a tree, growing it, then chopping it down to hit enemies, using a shovel to bury enemies, knocking enemies over with a flowerpot, dropping a bowling ball, and catching projectiles that he can then use once. He can also attack with an umbrella, a slingshot, fireworks, or by pulling weeds.
The Villager is also able to hover using balloons that are either those that carry gifts and need to be shot down using a slingshot, or those from Balloon Fight.[4] They can be popped one at a time.[5]
Villager's side special attack is known as the Lloid Rocket. This is a projectile attack, and the player can either launch it, or ride on it. In order to ride Lloid, the player must continue to press the attack button when the projectile is fired. The speed of the projectile can be controlled, and it inflicts more damage when Villager is riding it.[6]
Appearance in Mario Kart 8
Villager will be appearing in Mario Kart 8 as an optional downloadable character. He will be one of the two Animal Crossing characters that appear in the game, with the other being Isabelle. This time, Villager takes his appearance from the boxart of Animal Crossing: New Leaf.

Trivia
- According to Masahiro Sakurai, the Villager was originally planned to be a playable character in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, but was cut because "he wasn't suited for battle".[7]
