The Play Nintendo Show is a series on Play Nintendo's YouTube channel that lasted from 2016 to 2017. The series features Andrew Trego, his little sister Jenna, a "snappy" Piranha Plant named Izzy, among other hosts advertising various Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo Switch games.
Format[edit]
Every episode of the show begins with Andrew (and sometimes Jenna) exiting the Warp Pipe Izzy inhabits. Andrew would introduce himself and the hosts before a skit occurs. After the skit, the hosts rank five things from a select Nintendo game. Reggie would often then appear and would choose the game for a host to review (always being the game involved in the ranking earlier). The host tosses the script behind them, often into Izzy's mouth. In some of the episodes, a drawing of Izzy will be hanged on the wall, with help from a Hammer Bro. The videos end with a dance party, Andrew reading select comments from the previous episode, and one of the hosts (often Izzy) telling the viewer to like the video and subscribe to the Play Nintendo channel.
Starting with the thirteenth episode, the format was slightly changed. The segments where Reggie suggests the game for the host to the host was removed, and so was the segments where Andrew would read comments. These were replaced with Frizzy's Silly amiibo Theater and Ask Izzy respectively. Both series would eventually get standalone uploads after the show's ending, with Ask Izzy having it's segments released and numbered out of order. The top 5 segments were also reduced to top 3 segments.
Starting with the seventeenth episode, a new segment titled "Play Time" was introduced, a segment where the hosts would just play the game rather than reviewing it, and the ranking segments would become less frequent. This segment did not last very long, with only two of them being produced. Neither would get standalone uploads after the show's end.
Starting with the twenty-sixth episode, the ranking segments were removed entirely for "The Play Nintendo Show News": a segment where Izzy reads a news story before the game the episode focuses on is reviewed. The Adventures of Link and Larry the Cuckoo was also introduced: a segment where Link and Larry the Cuckoo would go on adventures being shown using gameplay footage of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Just like Ask Izzy and Frizzy's Silly amiibo Theater, these segments would get standalone uploads on the Play Nintendo channel.

Reoccurring[edit]
- Andrew Trego, the host that appears in all the episodes. He enjoys having fun.
- Izzy, a "snappy" Piranha Plant who often serves as the co-host. He likes food with flies on them, and is often the show's resource for comic relief.
- Reggie Fils-Aimé, the former president of Nintendo of America. He has a higher pitch voice and suggests games for the host of that episode to review. Later on, he would read comments to Izzy in Ask Izzy.
- Jenna, Andrew's little sister.
- Frizzy, a sock puppet Andrew created with buttons as eyes. They are the host of Frizzy's Silly amiibo Theater
- Terry, a host who specializes in Pokémon games. Reggie often sends him over for the episodes.
- Worthington, a robot butler who is first seen in the seventh episode. He does tasks for the hosts, but always apologizes for problems with their request.
- Myrtle, Andrew's aunt who runs an in-universe internet show titled "Myrtle's Mayhem".
- Jon Yeckley, the champion of "Thwomp, Paper Mario, Blooper" Andrew challenges and rematches. In both of his appearances, Andrew fails.
- Beary, a bear who appears starting with the eighteenth episode. They are never physically seen besides their paws.
- Mark the Shark, a shark who is seen in two episodes, mostly stuck in the ceiling with his tail sticking out.

- Todd, a character who is only seen in the sixth episode.
- Andrew's grandfather, a character who is seen in the seventh episode when Andrew wonders what he was like when he was his age.
- Mr. Puddlepop, a pet goldfish seen in the ninth episode.
- Snowplant, a Piranha Plant made of snow created by Izzy in the twelfth episode.
- Hannah, a Nintendo of America employee seen in the nineteenth episode.
- Kerry, a Nintendo of America employee seen in the nineteenth episode.
- Rizzy, another sock puppet conceptualized when Andrew thinks what their show would be like it it was taken over by dark chaos energy in the twenty-fourth episode.
- Charles, an elderly man created by the Super Season Spewer 6000 who appears in the thirty-second episode.
