"Super Mario Maker for Nintendo 3DS" is the twelfth episode of The Play Nintendo Show on Play Nintendo's YouTube channel. This episode is the first of two to cover Super Mario Maker for Nintendo 3DS.
Plot synopsis[edit]
Andrew Trego flies out of Izzy's warp pipe and introduces himself. Andrew says he is going to pull a prank on Izzy. Andrew calls his name, prompting Izzy to emerge until his head hits an Invisible Block, causing Andrew to laugh for an entire hour. Andrew considers his prank revenge after the prank Izzy pulled on him, when Izzy placed Ice Blocks on the floor, causing Andrew to slip on it while holding a cake. Andrew then reveals the subject of the episode's top 5 to be the top 5 course elements from Super Mario Maker for Nintendo 3DS to use in real life.
For number 5, Izzy attends a game show named "Say a Number", where as the title implies, he has to name a number to win a million coins. Izzy gets distracted by the banana, trumpet, snorkel, and "waffle-copter" that appears on screen, before correcting himself and saying the number 5. After Andrew jumps on the balloons that appeared when Izzy won the game show, he reveals the number 5 pick to be the trampoline, as it can help the viewer reach higher places. Andrew says the viewer can use it to win a basketball game, though he thinks that is boring. Andrew says the viewer can also use it to improve their "tasty treat transportation technique" as an example is shown of Andrew obtaining a cookie while watching The Play Nintendo Show using this method.
For number 4, Izzy is wearing a headlamp looking for treasure in a cave, and finds a number 4 with jewels in it. Andrew reveals the number 4 pick to be the Warp Doors while using them to walk from the left to the right of the Casa de Nintendo and vice versa. The Warp Doors were chosen as they can be used as a shortcut to a completely different location, with Andrew imagining it being used to travel from a snowy cabin to a sunny beach and how he could use the doors to create real snow cones.
For number 3, Izzy creates a Snowplant who bites him, causing Izzy to believe he has been frostbit and how he is the only one to blame. After the Snowplant introduces the number 3, Andrew is about to drink from a cup, until he finds Frizzy inside of it. He reveals the chosen course element to be Boos, as they can be turned into Boo Buddies, which can be used to prevent someone from obtaining the viewer's items. An example is shown of Jenna opening a Nintendo 3DS and unleashing the Boos, making her run away. Andrew and Izzy then perform a "leaf bump" to celebrate.
For number 2, Izzy pretends to be a pirate looking for treasure. He thinks he heard a Boo, so he says to move on to the next pick. There were no Boos, as Jenna was pressing a button that plays Boo noises from Super Mario 64. The pick is revealed to be the Koopa Clown Car, which Andrew says can be used to get out of class and avoid the test he forgot to study for. When Andrew asks if there are any extra credit for leaving in style, Izzy says there is not any.
For number 1, Izzy plays the drums at a concert, and thanks everyone attending for making them "a number 1". The number 1 pick is revealed to be the Wings, as he believes everyone thinks flying is the best superpower to have. Andrew then imagines everything having wings, including a garden gnome, a dog, a fire hydrant, a car, and Izzy's pipe. He stops imagining before having the idea of Bowser having wings, and reconsiders his belief of everyone should have wings.
With the ranking concluded, Andrew asks the viewer what their top 5 would be and to let them know by commenting. Andrew then calls for Reggie Fils-Aimé, who says he made something to celebrate the game he is excited for. Reggie asks Izzy for some help giving the items, so Izzy goes down his warp pipe and grabs the T shirts reading "I ❤️ Izzy" and brings them back to the Casa de Nintendo. Andrew thanks Reggie for the shirts. After Super Mario Maker for Nintendo 3DS is reviewed, Andrew crumples up the script and tosses it into Izzy's mouth. Andrew then encourages the viewer to visit the Play Nintendo website and vote in the "Which classic game style do you think makes the coolest course?" poll. Andrew shows off artwork of Andrew in a course with Izzy and hangs it on the wall with help from a hammer from a Hammer Bro. Andrew then asks Izzy to press the montage button, which plays a montage of all the dance parties from the previous episodes. Andrew then reads comments from the previous episode to Izzy.
- Lennon Maue: "5.Z moves 4.Ultra Beasts 3.Legendary Pokémon 2.Starter Pokémon 1.Island Challenge"
- Paulo Joffily: "Izzy is awesome! 5:56"
- PokeBoy600: "Could you do a play Nintendo show about 3DS Mario Maker?"
The video ends with Izzy at a concert telling the viewer to like and subscribe to "keep the jams going".
