Fake Goal Poles[1] are objects that appear in Shifty Boo Mansion and Shiftier Boo Mansion in Super Mario 3D World and Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury. They have the appearance of regular Goal Poles that have not been interacted with. Unlike regular Goal Poles, they cannot be used to finish the level; they instead turn into several Boos and disappear upon interaction. There are three fake Goal Poles in total: One appears in Shifty Boo Mansion, and two more appear in Shiftier Boo Mansion. The first fake Goal Pole in the latter level summons three Big Boos around it when a player gets near it.
