Anya-Josephine Marie Taylor-Joy (born April 16, 1996 in Miami, Florida, United States, and raised in Argentina and England) is a British-American actress known for her starring roles in the horror films The Witch, Split, and The Menu; the period romantic comedy film Emma; the action film Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga; and the Netflix miniseries The Queen's Gambit, the last of which she received several accolades for, including a Golden Globe Award and a Primetime Emmy Award nomination.
