Like other course themes in Mario Kart 7, additional percussion is added to Neo Bowser City's theme when the player is driving at top speed while in first place.

Neo Bowser City's theme is reused for 3DS Neo Bowser City in Mario Kart Tour, beginning with its inclusion in the Tokyo Tour.

Mario Kart 8

3DS Neo Bowser City was added to Mario Kart 8 in the Animal Crossing x Mario Kart 8 DLC along with a new arrangement of the course's theme. It is titled "3DS Koopa City", the course's European name, in the game's official soundtrack, as the soundtrack was only released in Europe, Japan, and Australia. Like in Mario Kart 7 and all other courses in Mario Kart 8, additional percussion is added to the theme's instrumentation when the player is driving at top speed while in first place.

These arrangements return for the same course in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
