"Overworld" is a theme composed for Paper Mario: Color Splash. It plays on the world map, and has seven variants depending on Mario's progress throughout the game. With each variant, the key of the song rises and more instruments are added.
- With no Big Paint Stars, the track is a simple bass melody with maracas and percussion.
- With one Big Paint Star, a piano lead takes over.
- With two Big Paint Stars, an acoustic guitar is added.
- With three Big Paint Stars, an xylophone is added.
- With four Big Paint Stars, trumpets and trombones are added.
- With five Big Paint Stars, violins are added.
- With six Big Paint Stars, a synthesizer is added.

Notes[edit]
- The idea of a map theme getting more instruments as progress is made throughout the game was previously used in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island. Paper Mario: The Origami King also uses a similar mechanic, where after every major objective, the theme of Toad Town gets more instruments added.
