The Super Mario Maker artbook was released alongside limited editions of Super Mario Maker. It contains artwork, sprites, and concept art from the game, as well as codes to enter in the game's digital manual to unlock hidden videos. The front cover shows a ? Block and Brick Block in the Super Mario Bros. style, the former of which connects through the spine to the back cover, which includes a Hard Block in the same style.

The following is a list of what is depicted on each page of the artbook. The pages adjacent to the front and back covers are blank yellow pages on both sides.
- Mario running through the first section of World 1-1 from Super Mario Bros.
- A music sheet of the Super Mario Bros. Ground Theme, with a trail of Mario's movement leading to the next page. The code "0913" is written in the top-right corner, referencing the release date of Super Mario Bros., which leads to a video of Koji Kondo playing the Super Mario Bros. soundtrack on piano.
- A custom course expanding off of page 2.
- A recreation of the Nintendo logo in the Super Mario Bros. game style.
- Continued from page 4.
- Mario standing underneath a Junior Clown Car, empty Shoe, Buzzy Shell, Spiny Shell, winged Stiletto, two Fire Flowers, two Super Mushrooms, and a big winged Thwomp with a cannon stacked on top in an iris view, in the Super Mario Bros. style.
