The boy is a recurring character in Mario is Missing!. He is depicted as a young boy wearing a baseball cap, shirt and shorts. Luigi can find the boy in every country he goes to. Luigi can ask the boy hints on the location Luigi is travelling to or ask him about the artifacts that Luigi is holding. In the PC versions, Luigi can also ask the boy where he saw the nearby Koopa stating the cardinal or ordinal directions of the Koopa's location.
