"Motley Bossblob",[1][2] also known as "Boss Music",[3] is a musical theme composed by Mahito Yokota for Super Mario 3D World, where it plays during the boss battles against Boss Brolder in Lava Rock Lair, King Ka-thunk in King Ka-thunk's Castle, and Motley Bossblob in Motley Bossblob's Big Battle and Motley Bossblob's Encore, as well as the boss battles against each of the aforementioned bosses in Boss Blitz.

Super Mario 3D World / Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury[edit]

Super Mario 3D World marks the first appearance of "Motley Bossblob", and it returns in the Nintendo Switch port, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury, for the same purposes. It is also included in the official Super Mario 3D World Original Soundtrack album.

Super Mario Maker 2[edit]

In Super Mario Maker 2, the original version of "Motley Bossblob" plays whenever the "Boss Music" sound effect is triggered in Super Mario 3D World-style levels.
