"Megahammer"[2] is a musical theme composed by Mahito Yokota for Super Mario Galaxy 2, where it plays during the boss battle against Megahammer in Bowser Jr.'s Fearsome Fleet.

History[edit]

Super Mario Galaxy 2[edit]

Super Mario Galaxy 2 marks the first appearance of "Megahammer". It is also included in the official Super Mario Galaxy 2 Original Soundtrack album. When the player is not riding Yoshi, most of the percussion is omitted from the instrumentation. Both the original theme and the remix return in the Nintendo Switch port, Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2, for the same purposes.

Leftover in the game's files is a sped-up version of "Megahammer" that goes unused in the final game. It lacks an intro, and it doesn't have a version without the Yoshi percussion.
