"Cosmic Power-Up with Mario and Yoshi" is a three-minute video released on March 1, 2026 by GoNoodle to promote Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2. The video features details about both games included in the port, in addition to various exercises related to the power-ups found in both games. Each exercise takes place in a different galaxy.

Contents[edit]

When the video begins, the narrator states that the participant can choose to either sit or stand, and to pick whichever option feels more comfortable for the participant. Two children are shown on-screen to illustrate how the exercises should be performed for each option. The narrator then provides a brief overview of select gameplay details on both games.

The first exercise takes place in the Gateway Galaxy, specifically during the mission Gateway's Purple Coins. The narrator states that the objective is to collect said Purple Coins, and that Flying Mario is the ideal form for this mission. The narrator then states that the participant should stretch their arms out to the side, and then pretend that they are flying side to side by tilting their body to the left and to the right. As the two children on-screen do this, a video clip of Flying Mario collecting Purple Coins is shown. As Mario progresses, the narrator suggests that the participant try tilting to the left slightly, then to the right, and then back to the left. Finally, the narrator states that the participant should now keep their body straight. After a moment, Mario lands and the narrator congratulates the participant on their flying.

The next exercise takes place in the Honeyhive Galaxy, specifically during the mission Bee Mario Takes Flight. The narrator states that the participants must jump from flower to flower while avoiding the jets of water. The narrator then instructs the participant to bend their elbows and hold them close to their body. Then, the narrator instructs the participant to turn their hands out to the side and flap them to make the wings of a bee. The narrator states that if the participant has chosen to stand, they may jump when Mario jumps, and that if they have chosen to sit, they can raise their shoulders upward when Mario jumps. The participants then "jump" (via the gameplay video) between a total of three flower platforms to reach the Launch Star, jumping a fourth time to reach it. The narrator then congratulates the participant, saying that "that was bee-eautiful!"

The third exercise takes place in Hightail Falls Galaxy. The narrator states that to cross the many steep hills within the galaxy, they will need the Dash Yoshi form. The narrator states that if the participant has chosen to stand, they should jog in place, and if they have chosen to sit, they should swing their arms as if jogging. The narrator states that the participant must continue jogging and swinging their arms until they reach the Launch Star. Once the gameplay video starts, the narrator provides steady encouragement to the participant, only suggesting that they maintain a steady pace. Once they reach the launch star, the narrator states that this was "A job well 'run'".

The final exercise takes place in Tall Trunk Galaxy, specifically during the mission The Flotacious Blimp Fruit. The narrator states that, with the Blimp Yoshi form, players are able to float up to places they would not otherwise be able to reach. The narrator states that the participant may follow along by putting their hands on their hips for balance and then moving their hips in a circular motion in any direction at a slow and steady pace. The narrator then states that if the participant has chosen to stand, they should stand wide, and that if they have chosen to sit, they should sit up very straight. The narrator congratulates the participant on their circles, stating that they should "try a few more circles" once Yoshi collects the second Blimp Fruit in the gameplay video. Once Yoshi reaches the third Blimp Fruit in the gameplay video, the narrator suggests that the participant try a final large circle. Once the player reaches the Launch Star in the video, the narrator congratulates the participant by saying "Way to go!"

The narrator ends the video by stating that the participant did a great job following Mario and Yoshi. In addition, text reading "Amazing job!" is displayed on the screen. The video ends with an advertisement for Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2, with the narrator also stating that users can download a free update when playing these games on a Nintendo Switch 2 if the user has already purchased said games.
