"P Switch BGM" is a recurring musical theme that appears in the New Super Mario Bros. series when a P Switch or ? Switch is hit. The theme is composed of two parts; the second part of the theme repeats if the P Switch timer is extended in some way.
Arrangements
New Super Mario Bros. Wii
An updated version of "P Switch BGM" appears in New Super Mario Bros. Wii with slightly different instrumentation. This version would be reused in New Super Mario Bros. 2, New Super Mario Bros. U, New Super Luigi U, and New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe as well as in the New Super Mario Bros. U style of Super Mario Maker, Super Mario Maker for Nintendo 3DS, and Super Mario Maker 2. The Super Mario 3D World style of the latter game also uses this theme, as Super Mario 3D World does not have its P Switch music.
On the Golden Plains stage in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, hitting a P Switch plays this arrangement of the theme as well as the corresponding sound effects from New Super Mario Bros. 2.

The Super Mario Bros. Movie
In The Super Mario Bros. Movie, an arrangement of "P Switch BGM" can be heard in "Welcome to the Mushroom Kingdom" as Mario struggles to locate the correct Warp Pipe while traveling to Peach's Castle.
