"World 8 Map (Dark Land)"[1] is a musical theme composed by Koji Kondo for Super Mario Bros. 3. It plays in the overworld map for Dark Land, the eight and final world of the game. A similar theme is played as the opening of "Bowser BGM" in Super Mario World.

The Super Mario All-Stars version of Super Mario Bros. 3 features a 16-bit arrangement of "World 8 Map (Dark Land)" that is used for the same purpose as the original. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate features two arrangements of "World 8 Map (Dark Land)", both of which can be played on any Super Smash Bros.-series and Super Mario-series stage.

The first arrangement can be in heard "Fortress Boss - Super Mario Bros. 3", which, despite the name, is actually a medley arrangement of multiple themes from Super Mario Bros. 3, those being "Fortress Boss", "World 6 Map (Ice Land)", and "World 8 Map (Dark Land)".

The second arrangement of "World 8 Map (Dark Land)" is incorporated into "King Bowser - Super Mario Bros. 3", which is a metal arrangement of "King of the Koopas" from Super Mario Bros. 3.
