"Title BGM",[1] also known as simply "Title",[2] is a musical theme composed by Koji Kondo for Super Mario World, where it plays in the game's title screen.

Super Mario series[edit]

Super Mario World[edit]

Super Mario World marks the first appearance of "Title BGM", and it returns in the port of the game included in Super Mario All-Stars + Super Mario World for the same purpose. It is also included in the official albums Super Mario World and Happy! Mario 20th - Super Mario Sound Collection.

Super Mario World: Super Mario Advance 2[edit]

In the Game Boy Advance remake of Super Mario World, Super Mario World: Super Mario Advance 2, an arrangement of "Title BGM" plays for the same purpose as in the original game.

Super Mario World: Mario to Yoshi no Bōken Land[edit]

In Super Mario World: Mario to Yoshi no Bōken Land, the original version of "Title BGM" plays in the program's title card and during the scene of Mario and Luigi first traveling to Dinosaur Land on an airplane.

Super Mario World (Nelsonic Game Watch)[edit]

In Super Mario World for the Nelsonic Game Watch, a brief arrangement of "Title BGM" plays when starting the game.[3]

Super Mario World television series[edit]

In the Super Mario World television series, an arrangement of "Title BGM" is featured in the first three episodes of the show. However, an alternate version with less instruments is mainly used in said episodes. The full version only plays twice, specifically in the episode "The Wheel Thing" when Mario shows the production of the Cavemobiles and at the ending.

The PC version of Mario is Missing! features two arrangements of "Title BGM".

The first arrangement plays during the title screen and opening cutscene.

The second arrangement plays during the ending cutscene when Luigi rescues and reunites with Mario.

Mario's Time Machine[edit]

The SNES version of Mario's Time Machine features two arrangements of "Title BGM", both of which were arranged by Rob Wallace.

Hello, Mario![edit]

In Hello, Mario!, an acoustic arrangement of "Title BGM" plays when the pattern background is used after tapping the Note Block to change it, with one of the additional arrangements played on top when the player pulls Mario's face. Mario (voiced by Kevin Afghani) also sings the first ten notes of "Title BGM" right after changing the background.

The official Super Mario World soundtrack album features a slow-paced jazz arrangement of "Title BGM" arranged by Soichi Noriki and performed by the Mario World Band. It is titled "Welcome to Mario World".

Super Mario Compact Disco[edit]

In the Super Mario Compact Disco album, the original version of "Title BGM" is sampled at the beginning of the song "Opening Credits", which was composed by Simon Harris and Melissa Beckford.

Super Mario Compact Disco – 35th Anniversary Edition features a remastered version of "Opening Credits" titled "Opening Credits [Remastered]".
