The Master Mirage Control, also referred to as just the Mirage Control, is a switch appearing in the Super Mario Bros. comic "Just Deserts." It is located in King Koopa's pyramid fortress, serving as its self-destruct mechanism; pushing its button results in the pyramid disappearing after a short time. As such, it is heavily discouraged to press the button, with several signs urging one not to push it surrounding it.
During the comic, Mario and Luigi, who are in their dune buggy, land inside King Koopa's pyramid after he makes it rise from the ground. After crashing into the room containing the king, the three then find a exit with their names on it. When Luigi asks how they will open the door, Mario suggests that their best chance is to press the Master Mirage Control's button, which is located to the left of the door. He pushes the button, which opens the door to allow them to escape in their dune buggy, though also causes the pyramid itself to disappear entirely after a short while. Driving away from the now-absent fortress, Luigi laments its disappearance, though Mario mentions that he saved the Mirage Control from it. He then presses the button on the switch, turning their dune buggy into a limousine with an umbrella as the three drive back to the Mushroom Kingdom.
