Dr. Eggman Nega, also referred to as Eggman Nega or Nega for short, is a recurring villain from the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. He is a descendant of Dr. Eggman from the future, though he was initially presumed to be from another dimension. Silver and Blaze are his main nemeses, paralleling Sonic's negative relationship with Dr. Eggman. While he originally worked together with Dr. Eggman in the Sonic Rush series, he later became an enemy to Eggman in the Sonic Rivals series. The two have a neutral and collaborative relationship in the Mario & Sonic series, though Eggman Nega still does not like Dr. Eggman.
History
Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games
Eggman Nega appears as a rival in the Festival Mode of the Wii version of Mario & Sonic at the Winter Olympic Games. He is faced in the Ski Cross event.
In the DS version, Eggman Nega appears in the Adventure Tours mode and is faced in the Nordic Combined and Skeleton events, in Frostown and Polastraits respectively. He keeps Sparky in a cage in Frostown, and later does the same to Cuby in Polastraits.
Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games
Eggman Nega returns as a rival in the Wii version of Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games, where he must be spoken to in London Party mode in order to face him. He will first challenge the player in Fencing - Epée and will later challenge them for a rematch in Dream Fencing.
In the Nintendo 3DS version, Eggman Nega appears in the Story Mode, where Toad accidentally finds him guarding the fog machine at the British Museum. After being questioned by the heroes about its whereabouts, he challenges the group to 4x100m Relay with a team of blue Shy Guys and disappears without revealing the location after he is defeated. He later appears at the opening ceremony for the Olympic games. A badge of Eggman Nega can also be obtained from the badge machine.
Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games
Eggman Nega appears as a boss in the Legends Showdown mode of Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games. As all of the playable characters are about to claim the Legend Trophy, he ambushes them along with Dry Bowser and Rouge the Bat. The player must then face all three of them in the Winter Sports Champion Race event.
Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games

Eggman Nega appears as a playable character in this game. This not only marks his first playable appearance in the Mario & Sonic series, but also his first playable appearance in any game whatsoever.
However, Eggman Nega is only playable in the Nintendo 3DS version, and, like Espio, he only participates in the Long Jump and Long Jump Plus events. He must be unlocked before he can be played as, being unlocked by defeating him in the Long Jump Plus event in the Road to Rio mode.
Eggman Nega is the only playable character in either version to lack a Mii costume.
Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020
Eggman Nega appears in Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 as a playable character. He is exclusive to Karate. He wears a black and yellow karategi unlike the other characters with clothing changes who all wear white karategi.
Eggman Nega plays a larger role in the game's Story Mode unlike most of the guest characters. After Bowser Jr. steals the Tokyo '64 video game containing Mario, Sonic, Bowser, and Eggman trapped in it, he delivers the machine to Eggman Nega who starts to make his analysis. Luigi and Tails do not agree with this, but eventually give in since there is no other option. In the meantime, Eggman Nega also uses some tricks in order to guarantee that Bowser and Eggman win the medals (the source to get out the game) by adding the "DLC" item Miracle Roll, a sushi which can increase their strength if they eat them. Eventually, after he and Bowser Jr. start cooperating with Luigi and Tails, he creates the Excitement Battery with Magikoopa's help to allow the Tokyo '64 to have infinite power.
