"P Switch BGM" is a recurring musical theme that appears in the New Super Mario Bros. series when a P Switch or ? Switch is hit. The theme is composed of two parts; the second part of the theme repeats if the P Switch timer is extended in some way.

Arrangements

New Super Mario Bros. Wii

An updated version of "P Switch BGM" appears in New Super Mario Bros. Wii with slightly different instrumentation. This version would be reused in New Super Mario Bros. 2, New Super Mario Bros. U, New Super Luigi U, and New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe as well as in the New Super Mario Bros. U style of Super Mario Maker, Super Mario Maker for Nintendo 3DS, and Super Mario Maker 2. The Super Mario 3D World style of the latter game also uses this theme, as Super Mario 3D World does not have its P Switch music.
