Appears in Super Mario Bros. Wonder (2023)

Pole Blocks are blocks that appear in Super Mario Bros. Wonder. They produce a pole that extends in a fixed direction when hit (depending on the alignment of the block's stripes) and slowly retracts after some time has passed. During a Wonder Effect, some Pole Blocks are solid purple with a pulsating effect, and they will activate on their own, producing a randomly-assorted set of poles instead. The way player characters cling to the horizontal poles that emerge from Pole Blocks is similar how characters cling to the Cliffs introduced in New Super Mario Bros..
