The minimap of Big Donut (World)

Chain Chomp Desert is a battle course in Mario Kart World. It is very similar to both Thwomp Desert and Chain Chomp Wheel from Mario Kart Wii, and is effectively a hybrid of the two courses, along with using an arrangement of "Thwomp Desert" as its music. The course is located near Shy Guy Bazaar and driven through routes in both directions from Airship Fortress. The route from Wario Stadium to Shy Guy Bazaar drives through Chain Chomp Desert, though the route from Shy Guy Bazaar to Wario Stadium does not.

It and Big Donut are the only battle courses in the game that are not named after a race course.

Course layout[edit]

The course is set in a large circular arena, mostly consisting of a large, round pit of quicksand with a hole in the middle, similar to the quicksand pit in Dry Dry Desert from Mario Kart: Double Dash!! and Thwomp Desert from Mario Kart Wii. A small flat area along the perimeter of the quicksand is safe to be driven on and features a few short walls. Chain Chomps roll around inside the pit, and will spin out players who collide with them.
