The spinning tube[1]:98
Two types of spinning tube appear in Mario Kart 7: one type, simply called "spinning tube", is found at the start of the third section of Rainbow Road. This spinning tube is rainbow-colored with a white spiral pattern and a tiled and starry overlay. The spinning tube has Dash Panels placed inside, and features a star-shaped ring at the start, as well as Dash Panel ramps and Glide Ramps at the end. The second type, referred to as a paddle wheel,[1]:94
In Mario Kart Tour, spinning tubes reappear on 3DS Rainbow Road as well as its R variant, and one or more paddle wheels reappear on 3DS Bowser's Castle and all its variants, as well as Yoshi's Island T. 3DS Rainbow Road also returns in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe as part of the Booster Course Pass, so its spinning tube also reappears as well. The spinning tubes on 3DS Rainbow Road have a more simplistic design in both Mario Kart Tour and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
