"Wario Shipyard"[1] (known as "Wario's Galleon" in PAL regions) is a musical theme in Mario Kart 7, where it plays in the race course of the same name. This theme incorporates brief quotes of "Main Theme" from Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3, "Title" from WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$!, and Mario Kart 7's own battle theme.
History[edit]
Mario Kart 7[edit]
Mario Kart 7 marks the first appearance of "Wario Shipyard". A distorted arrangement of the theme with heavy percussion plays in the underwater section of the course. It is titled "Wario Shipyard (Underwater)" in the Nintendo Music app. For both themes, a looping drum set beat is added to the instrumentation whenever the player is driving at top speed while in first place.

Mario Kart Tour[edit]
In Mario Kart Tour, the source-quality version of "Wario Shipyard" plays in 3DS Wario Shipyard, which was first added in the Wario vs. Waluigi Tour. As with Mario Kart 7, the source-quality version of "Wario Shipyard (Underwater)" plays in the underwater section of the course.
Mario Kart World[edit]
In Mario Kart World, a dance-rock arrangement of "Wario Shipyard" plays when racing in the course of the same name. This arrangement introduces a new string motif now associated with the course. Due to underwater driving not returning in this game, the underwater version from Mario Kart 7 is omitted, with the full arrangement instead playing throughout the entire course.
When approaching Wario Shipyard from a route or during a rally before reaching the course's finish line, a simple prelude arrangement of "Wario Shipyard" plays. It is titled "Wario Shipyard (Intro)" in the Nintendo Music app. This prelude consists of the string motif being repeated with brief quotes of the bassline in between. It is also one of the shortest preludes in the game, being just eight bars long.
"Wario Shipyard" is one of four race course themes in this game that do not transition into a coda, the other three being "Great ? Block Ruins", "Acorn Heights", and "Rainbow Road", as the former three only appear at the end of Knockout Tour rallies, while the latter doesn't appear in Knockout Tour whatsoever.
A brief arrangement of the string motif of "Wario Shipyard" is incorporated in the theme that plays during the intro cutscene for the Star Cup. It is titled "Opening (Star Cup)" in the Nintendo Music app.
