The Super Mario Galaxy Movie (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) is the soundtrack for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, containing tracks from the film's score composed by Brian Tyler. Like the first film, the score incorporates unique pieces from previous games in the Super Mario franchise, with themes based on the Super Mario Galaxy games, and very few licensed tracks were used compared to the first film. As with the previous film's soundtrack, the licensed vocal songs are not present in the album. The original song from the first film, "Peaches", appears as a short instrumental piece during the film. Tyler created the score when being at the hospital and gave it more than 300 references to the music than in the previous film.[3]
In addition to the Super Mario themes used in the film, the tracks "Super Mario Galaxy", "Yoshi On the Go", and "The Rise of Bowser Jr." all contain arrangements of new themes for Rosalina, Yoshi, and Bowser Jr.. Brian Tyler also incorporated themes from the Star Fox series as well as a small cue from the Pikmin series. Koji Kondo, who previously worked with Tyler on the first film, returns as a score consultant.
