"A-wa-wa-wa!"[1][2] is a musical theme composed by Mahito Yokota for Super Mario Galaxy, where it plays during the boss battles against Baron Brrr in the Freezeflame Galaxy and the Undergrunt Gunner in the Deep Dark Galaxy.

Super Mario Galaxy[edit]
Super Mario Galaxy marks the first appearance of "A-wa-wa-wa!", and it returns in the Nintendo Switch ports, Super Mario 3D All-Stars and Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2, for the same purpose. It is also included in the official Super Mario Galaxy Original Soundtrack album.
Super Mario Galaxy 2[edit]
In Super Mario Galaxy 2 and the Nintendo Switch port, Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2, an arrangement of "A-wa-wa-wa!" arranged by Mahito Yokota plays during the boss battles against King Lakitu in the Yoshi Star Galaxy and the Mandibug Stack in the Puzzle Plank Galaxy, as well as during the mission "Rolling Crabber Romp". It is titled "A-wa-wa-wa-wa!" in the Nintendo Music app. It is also included in the official Super Mario Galaxy 2 Original Soundtrack album. This arrangement has a similar intro, but with a different set of notes afterward that sound similar to the original.
