"Family"[1][2] is a musical theme composed by Mahito Yokota for Super Mario Galaxy, where it plays during the after-credits cutscene, which is unlocked after getting 120 Power Stars. It is a slower-paced piano arrangement of "Rosalina in the Observatory" from the same game.

Super Mario Galaxy[edit]

Super Mario Galaxy marks the first appearance of "Family", and it returns in the Nintendo Switch ports, Super Mario 3D All-Stars and Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2, for the same purpose. It is also included in the official Super Mario Galaxy Original Soundtrack album.

Super Mario Galaxy 2[edit]

Exclusively in the Nintendo Switch port of Super Mario Galaxy 2, an arrangement of "Family" that incorporates "Luma" from Super Mario Galaxy as a strings countermelody plays during the epilogue chapter of Rosalina's Storybook, "Epilogue: Journey", which was added in the version 1.4.0 update. It is likewise titled "Journey" in the Nintendo Music app. Unlike the original version of "Family", this theme is in the same key as the original "Rosalina in the Observatory".
