"Super Mario House",[1] also known as "Super Pipe House",[2] is a musical theme composed by Yoko Shimomura in Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars, where it plays in Mario's House and its surrounding area. This theme incorporates an arrangement of the first four bars of "World 1 Map (Grass Land)" from Super Mario Bros. 3 played on an accordion, and an arrangement of "Ground BGM" from Super Mario Bros. played on an aerophone.

History[edit]

All subsequent arrangements of this theme were also arranged by Yoko Shimomura.

Super Mario RPG (Nintendo Switch)[edit]

“I knew I wanted to feature that famous Mario tune as the main melody for this track, since it plays in his house. Then I wondered if there was another melody I could include here that had that same Mario flair. Immediately, "Grass Land,"[sic] the Grass Land theme from Super Mario Brothers 3[sic], was what came to mind.”
Yoko Shimomura, Liner notes in Super Mario RPG Original Sound Box

In the Nintendo Switch remake of Super Mario RPG, an orchestral arrangement of "Super Mario House" plays for the same purpose as in the original game. If the music is set to the "Classic" setting, the original version of the theme will play instead. The new orchestral arrangement is also included in the official albums Super Mario RPG Original Soundtrack, Super Mario RPG Original Sound Box, and Super Mario RPG Original Sound Vinyl Box.
